Adventures of Sledding

We went over to Kent & Brooke's house on Sunday morning for some delicious scones and a day of fun and visiting. After breakfast, we all got into our snow gear and headed out for some fun in the snow (even Brandon had a good time, we know how much he loves snow) we took the kids over to a park nearby and went sledding and had such a blast! Once we got back to the house, the kids just wanted to play, play, play. We don't get to see them enough so the kids have a good time when they're together. Thanks to the Christensen's for having us over, we had a good time.

Christmas morning was so much fun! I had set the alarm because we were having my family over and I wanted to make sure that we would have time to open all of our presents before they showed up, but I also was hoping that Ashtyn would wake up before my alarm because what fun is it if you have to wake the little ones up. Brandon and I were both kind of awake already and we hear Ashtyn's door open, her little feet walk to the top of the stairs and then she comes running into our room " Mom, Dad, wake up, Santa came!" We made her wait just long enough for us to get Skyler up and then we headed downstairs. It was so much fun to see how excited they both were!

Christmas Eve At Grandma's

We did the Christmas Eve thing with Brandon's parents. We had dinner and then before we could even clean up, the kids were wanting to open presents. They got lots of fun stuff and of course Christmas eve wouldn't be complete without new jammies from Grandma. The kids were so excited for Santa, so we put out his cookies and some carrots for the reindeer, oh and don't forget the "Special Key" so that Santa can get in through the front door because we don't have a chimney for him to come down.

Cookies for Santa

Here is Brandon and the kids making
some very
delicious chocolate & peanut butter chip cookies for Santa. Santa ate them all up and left only crumbs on his plate.

Another Year Older

It started on Sunday with dinner at Brandon's parents house, yummy chile verde and brownie sundaes. Monday night we went to my mom's house for chicken & dumplings and Nothing Bundt Cake (red velvet, it was delicious)! I took Tuesday off so the kids and I hung out for a bit with Aunt Brooke and the kids and then we got some lunch at the "new place" aka. Chick-Fil-A, new to Ashtyn because we had never ate at the one in Jordan Landing. After some drama with FedEx, Brandon got home from work, and he and the kids gave me a new iPod that he had engraved with a special little note from him and the kids. We finished the night with dinner at Applebee's, and you can see that the kids loved dessert!
I had to take in a lot to be able to blow out all those candles
My sweet nephews gave me these pretty roses
This is so delicious!
mmm, mmm good!

All Aboard!

Skyler loves his grammy's christmas village and can't keep his little hands off of the train.

A Visit From Santa

Last night Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by Kent & Brooke's house. The kids were all so excited. They all gathered around while Mrs. Claus read a story and then it was time to sit on the Jolly Old Man's lap. It was so cute, as each child got up on his lap he told them that he had been watching them all year and that they had all been pretty good kids but there was just a few things that they could work on for this next year. He asked Ashtyn if she would work on listening to mommy & daddy and being a good example for her little brother (that would help, Skyler does EVERYTHING that his big sister does and then some. He is such a BOY!)
